Zellige

Organic and characterful, Zellige tiles, also known as Moroccan style tiles, originated in the medieval Islamic world and are particularly associated with Morocco. Originally hand-cut, they are uneven and display the sort of imperfections associated with a handmade product. Our Zellige is made using modern techniques but still exudes all the charm of an authentic handmade product.

The term "zellige" comes from the Arabic word "zellij," which means "tile" in Moroccan Arabic.

Rustico Zellige is a more rustic version of these fabulous tiles, with more of the beautiful imperfections associated with this handmade style of tile.
