Terracotta has properly come back into fashion, and in brick form it captures all the warmth and texture of the traditional material without the fuss of sealing or ongoing maintenance that real terracotta demands. Porcelain lets you have that sun-baked, earthy colour and rustic surface in a tile that behaves itself day to day.
It suits a country cottage kitchen brilliantly, but it works just as well in a more retro scheme or a Mediterranean or Moroccan-inspired room where warmth and texture matter more than polish. Lay it in a traditional brick bond for something familiar, or try a herringbone, vertical stack, or basket weave if you want the format to feel a bit more considered. Either way, it is one of the most characterful colours in the whole brick range.
