Porcelain has become the default choice for a bathroom that needs to look considered for years, not just for the first six months. Dense and virtually non-porous, it copes with daily steam and splashing without ever needing to be sealed, and it comes in effects that convincingly mimic stone, cement, and timber if you want the character of those materials without the upkeep.
A large format porcelain tile across the floor and most walls keeps grout lines to a minimum and gives a bathroom a calm, seamless backdrop, especially useful in a smaller room where you want it to feel bigger rather than busier. Many customers then bring in a smaller decorative tile as a feature, inside a shower niche, behind the basin, or across one statement wall, with green, blue, pink, and warm neutral tones proving the most popular choices. One thing worth flagging: gloss and polished finishes can be slippery underfoot when wet, so for the floor specifically we would usually recommend a naturally finished or textured porcelain instead.
