Outdoor Tiles

Outdoor & Patio Tiles

Outdoor tiling is a wonderful way to bring character, structure, and lasting style to your garden. Whether you are creating a relaxed patio tile floor for summer dining or elegant garden path tiles that guide guests through the space, tiles can transform even the simplest outdoor areas.

Our designers love using porcelain tiles for outdoor projects because it offers beauty with everyday practicality. Porcelain is naturally frost proof, durable, and easy to maintain, making it ideal for patios, terraces, and pathways. For this collection, we have gathered our anti-slip porcelain designs that are perfectly suited for outdoor tiling across garden floors and general exterior spaces. For more decorative tiles that are thinner than our 20mm pavers, first install a concrete base and install these outdoor tiles as normal.

    Outdoor & Patio Tiles FAQ'S

Yes, porcelain is one of our favourite materials for outdoor tiling. It is naturally frost proof, incredibly durable, and does not absorb much moisture. That means it can cope beautifully with changing weather conditions. It is perfect for patios, terraces, and garden path tiles where you want something stylish but practical.

Outdoor tiles come in a variety of thicknesses, but most porcelain tiles suitable for exterior use are typically around 9 to 20mm thick depending on how they are installed. When laid onto a properly prepared concrete base, standard porcelain tiles can perform brilliantly outdoors.

Outdoor tiles should be installed onto a stable, well prepared base. Most professionals will create a solid concrete base before fixing porcelain tiles with exterior grade adhesive and grout. This approach gives you the freedom to choose beautiful tiles rather than being limited to thick paving slabs.

One of the lovely things about porcelain is how easy it is to maintain. Regular sweeping and the occasional wash with warm water and a mild cleaner is usually all that is needed. Because porcelain is very dense, dirt sits on the surface rather than soaking in - something that is common in other tile materials such as terracotta or some ceramics.

For almost all garden floors, patios, and pathways we recommend choosing tiles with an anti-slip surface. These textured finishes help provide extra grip in wet conditions, and minimise the risk of slipping
