Orange is a bold pick, but it rarely feels as loud in practice as it sounds on paper, especially at the lighter, creamier end of the range where it shades gently into terracotta and cotto tones. Further along, the range deepens into a richer marmalade orange with a good deal more presence.
It works nicely as a warm accent rather than covering an entire room, a splashback, a border, or a single feature wall that catches the eye without dominating everything around it. Paired with warm wood, cream walls or natural stone, orange brings a sense of Mediterranean warmth into a kitchen or a hallway without ever feeling overpowering. Matt and lightly textured finishes suit the deeper shades gorgeously, keeping the colour feeling earthy rather than too bright or synthetic.
