Navy brings real drama to a kitchen, anchoring the space with depth against white cabinetry or lifting a darker scheme further still. A dark grout pulls out the texture of the tile, while a lighter grout keeps the grid crisp and graphic.
Large format navy porcelain, in a wood, stone, cement or plain finish, is our usual recommendation for kitchen floors, since it is easy to clean and stands up well to daily use. A smaller decorative navy tile suits a splashback or worktop surround nicely, and in a compact kitchen a patterned navy floor can add plenty of character where wall space is limited. Given how much a kitchen floor has to cope with in spills and footfall, a tiled surface remains one of the most practical options.
