Ivory brings a warm, inviting glow to a kitchen, especially under artificial lighting, where a pure white surface can look a little cooler. It sits well against timber cabinetry, brass fittings and warm stone worktops, which makes it an easy colour to build a kitchen scheme around.
Large format ivory porcelain, whether in a wood, stone, cement or plain finish, is our usual suggestion for kitchen floors thanks to its low maintenance and easy cleaning. Decorative ivory tiles work brilliantly on a splashback or worktop surround, and in a smaller kitchen a patterned ivory floor tile can add real character where wall space is limited. Since a kitchen floor takes more spills than almost any other room, a tiled surface remains one of the most sensible choices.
